App Permissions
QR Lite requires minimal permissions to function properly. Below are the permissions the app may request and why they are needed:
Camera Permission
Purpose: QR Code Scanning
QR Lite uses your device's camera to scan QR codes. This permission is essential for the core functionality of the app.
- Scan QR codes from images and real-world objects
- Access camera feed for real-time QR code detection
- No photos or videos are stored or transmitted
- Camera access stops when you close the app or navigate away
Internet Permission
Purpose: Advertisement Loading
Internet access is required to load advertisements that support the free version of QR Lite.
- Load and display Google Ads
- No user data is transmitted over the internet
- Only ad-related network requests are made
Media Images Permission
Purpose: QR Code Scanning from Gallery
This permission allows QR Lite to access images from your device's gallery to scan QR codes from saved photos.
- Access gallery images for QR code scanning
- Import QR codes from screenshots or saved photos
- Images are only processed for QR code detection
- No images are modified or stored by the app
Storage Permissions
Purpose: App Data Management
Storage access is needed to save app preferences, scan history, and temporary files for QR code processing.
- Read External Storage: Access images for QR code scanning
- Write External Storage: Save scan history and app settings
- Store QR code scan history for easy access
- Save temporary files during QR code processing
- Only app-specific data is accessed
Vibration Permission
Purpose: User Feedback
Vibration provides haptic feedback when QR codes are successfully scanned or for user interactions.
- Vibrate when QR code is successfully scanned
- Provide feedback for button interactions
- Enhance user experience with tactile responses
- Can be disabled in app settings
Location Permission
Purpose: WiFi Connectivity
Location permission is required by Android to access WiFi network information and establish WiFi connections. This is a system requirement for WiFi functionality.
